Please join us for a conference on “Understanding and Enhancing Functional Vision in Daily Life”, on August 23rd, 2024 in Aberdeen, UK. The conference is organized by the OptiVisT network as a satellite event to the European Conference on Visual Perception (25-29th August) also in Aberdeen.

OptiVisT is a European Research Network which aims at gaining new scientific insights into functional vision and translating these insights towards solutions and applications for visual impairment and rehabilitation. Speakers at the conference will be: David Mann and Eli Brenner (Free University, Amsterdam), Monica Gori (Italian Institute of Technology), Silke Kärcher (feelSpace), Pete Jones and David Crabb (City, University of London), Gera de Haan and Nienke Boonstra (Royal Visio), Nomdo Jansonius and Frans Cornelissen (University Medical Center Groningen). The network’s PhD students will present their best and favorite work on posters. The keynote lecture will be given by Prof. Lotfi Merabet (Harvard Medical School). Keep an eye on our socials and this website for general overview of the speakers’s abstracts.

Attendance can be in person at the Radisson hotel in the heart of Aberdeen or virtually via Zoom/Google Meet/Teams (link to be distributed later to registered attendees). In person participation is free but limited, so please register using this form. Please also register when planning to attend virtually!

For in-person attendees, there’s an option to present your own related work in the form of a poster. Please provide a title and abstract in case you are interested in this. Furthermore, for a small number of early stage researchers, we can offer support for your attendance. Please indicate your interest in this when registering.

The early registration deadline and the deadline for applying for financial support is on June 15, 2024. Soon after, we will inform you about your participation.
